Seasonal Change…Finally!

OK….this is going to be a long one.

Though the weather several days ago may seem a little contradicting; spring has sprung for us on the farm. There is so much new life happening that it just makes you want to dance around with joy.

Alright… deep breath… here we go….

So our first sign of spring: our pepper and tomato sprouts are flourishing.img_4084

It is so satisfying to see those first sprouts push and fight their way up out of the soil and slowly unfurl their leaves.img_4087

Second: flowers are blooming, and the bees are loving them. Also, garlic is up.img_3974_001img_3954_001

Third: we planted peas. It feels so wonderful to dig into the soft soil.img_4253_001img_4262_001

Next…..lambs are here!img_4071_001img_4017_002img_3992_002Just absolutely adorable.img_4075_001And with temperatures hitting almost eighty degrees… the other day we went Morel mushroom hunting. Though we did not find any mushrooms this time, we did find some ramps. (No, not the wooden kind :) Similar to a leek.)img_4104_001img_4131_001img_4123_001Well, I guess we did find some mushrooms ;) img_4116_001My beautiful mom.img_4130_001img_4135_001Mom and Elaine.img_4140_001G.R.E.E.N.!img_4151_001Some more lamb pictures I took on the way down from the woods.img_4204_001Only a few days old and already mimicking mama. This little ewe lamb has a very interesting, well-defined black spot on her neck.img_4160_001Doesn’t this look like the comfiest bed in the world?img_4207_001Selfie :) img_4192_001img_4166_001And mom petting Alsan while checking on the rams before we head inside.img_4224_001Phew…we made it!
