We started putting posts in for the fence; Dad said that we are going to need 32 posts total to get all the way around. We only have four in so far, we might get more in tomorrow as long as it doesn’t rain here.
The first step has been clearing away a lot of the brush for the new paddock area. What a big difference a little brush hogging makes!
Finding time for building new pasture is always challenging. With the growing flock it is a must though. So the long talked about new area for the rams is finally in the beginning stages!
Our fall garlic planting is finally complete! We plant approximately 10 lbs. of garlic consisting of 6 different varieties every fall; this supplies enough for all of our cooking needs and feeding free choice to the sheep throughout the year. They love it as much as we do! The sheep eat the whole cloves as well as the scapes when offered. The garlic is as good for them as it is for us.
